Mercy Corps Benefit Concert Series to Alleviate Crisis in Uganda.
On Saturday November 10, Jeremy Wilson and Sam Densmore join the fundraising efforts for this humanitarian organization. They'll play alongside notable local songwriters Morgan Grace, Little Sue, Linda Hornbuckle and others, at The Mission Theater. This show, billed as Songwriter's Night, is one of many such fundraising events taking place during the months of October and November. My Life in Black and White is another great Portland band who love their rock 'n roll and their country mixed together. Portland based songwriter Mike Moore
has a new CD out called "Whisky Songs". Filled with depression and alcohol inspired songs, this record is dark and organic sounding. Harmony vocals are highlighted by acoustic guitar, piano, drums and the occasional studio trick here and there.
You can catch MIke doing his thing on most Tuesday evenings at Haven Coffee ( SE 35th & Division in Portland, OR) during their open mic night.

Join us for Episode 35 pt 2 of the Mastan Music Hour. Live guest this week is Leigh Marble.
The term singer-songwriter often conjures images of lone troubadors, plaintively singing their woes, accompanied by nothing but a guitar and self-pity.
Boston transplant, Leigh Marble easily dispels that myth, particularly with his newest release "Red Tornado" (Laughing Stock Records). For his sophomore effort, Marble enlisted the talents of drummer Jason Russell and keyboard virtuoso Ben Macy, who, by his own admission knows "nothing about rock 'n roll". Together, they created a set of songs that comfortably inhabit a space somewhere between punk, folk and Americana, with lyrics that are razor sharp.
