Episode 31 Part 2 Featured Live Musical Guests
The Dimes
The Dimes are our featured guests in this Episode 31 pt 2 of the MastanMusic Hour. Constantly on tour, the Dimes present a well polished and intriguing acoustic set of original songs. All of the songs they perform are from their new CD The Silent Generation released August 25th to a packed house of adoring fans at club Holocene in Portland, OR. The CD features an inspired set of songs based on depression era newspaper articles found in guitar player Pierre's house. Much like the "paperboy on the corner", the Dimes offer slice of life and stranger than fiction stories in their hook laden pop. Hear the stories behind the songs and join Ryan, Johnny, Pierre and Jake in one of The MastanMusic Hours best acoustic sets to date. Scroll down to the Part 2 section of this webpage to read more about The Dimes and to hear the entire show.
See The Dimes performance in the MMHour 31 Part 2 Video Single of their beautiful song "Catch Me Jumping" recorded and filmed live from MastanMusic Studio in Portland, OR.

Our Eugene Celebration Bands Spotlight |
The Brunettes
"Brunettes Against Bubblegum Youth" from the CD
Structure And Cosmetics |
The latest import via Sub Pop records, The Brunettes hail from New Zealand and exploit the mod aesthetic to all available ends. Having recently toured with the Shins, and releasing their new CD, Structure and Cosmetics, the Brunettes continue their rush towards success. See them at the Eugene Celebration on the Macdonald Theater Stage, co-sposored by The MastanMusic Hour.
|
Dead Americans "The Boy Who Shot Out The Sun (Pt 2)" from the CD
The Boy Who Shot Out The Sun |
Eugene band The Dead Americans are well known in the Willamette Valley for their crazy stage show and politically charged lyrics. Their brand of rock recalls Blondie and other New York style glam punk bands of the late 70s - early 80's.
The Dead Americans will appear at the Eugene Celebration on September 8th at 1:30 pm on the Library Stage.
|
Dirty Sweet "Come again" from the CD
Of Monarchs and Beggars |
San Diego's Dirty Sweet, is a low down rock n roll band with heavy arena rock overtones. Dirty Sweet is currently on tour supporting their new CD, "Of Monarchs and Beggars" out now on Seedling Records and available at a record store near you.
Dirty Sweet are also featured on the MacDonald Theater Stage at, you guessed it, The Eugene Celebration Saturday September 8th!
|
The Dimes "Letters In The Sea" from the CD
The Silent Generation |
On the heels of their brand new CD release The Silent Generation The Dimes are an indie pop rock group from Portland Oregon. Constant touring and clever pop hooks have made these guys quite popular as of late. Their literate songwriting and charming attitudes win over audiences with ease. See them on tour in Oregon, Washington and California this fall, including a stop on September 8th at the Eugene Celebration.
Be sure and check out their live in the studio performance in Part 2 of this Episode 31 of the MastanMusic Hour.
|
Heavenly Oceans "God Bless the Child" from the CD
Heavenly Oceans |
With a name like Heavenly Oceans, it's not surprising that this group plays surf music with a passion. It's loud and brash, twangy and aggressive. They will be playing at the Eugene Celebration on Sept 9 on the Broadway Stage at 3pm. From the sound of their disc, the show will be a rocking highlight.
|
Silverhawk "Golden Screw" from the CD
Hangover Bicycle Ride |
MastanMusic's own Silverhawk is returning to the Eugene Celebration and performing at Lucky's Cigar Club on Friday Sept 7th. The new CD, "Hangover Bicycle Ride" will be available this fall right here on www.MastanMusic.com
A mix of groovy psychedelic, americana, and rock n roll, Silverhawk invites you to "rock out with your Hawk out" with them at various Washington and Oregon based venues this Fall.
