Earthmonkey "Be That Charge Again" from the new CD
Be That Charge
We're proud to open the show with "Be That Charge Again" from Ireland's EARTHMONKEY. This is arguably the most psychedelic track we've played in a awhile, and we love it! From Portland based Beta-lactam Ring Records, "Peat Bog aka Earthmonkey and former member of Nurse With Wound delivers a new experimental opus featuring 3 albums! At the point where experimental stuff is often boring and improvised Earthmonkey composes a diversified album merging different influences." We couldn't put it any better than that ! Get your copy at Beta-lactam Ring Records.
Caves "Closure" from their 4-song EP Caves
CAVES "Closure" is a dramatic indie rock track in the tradition of 80's era U2 or the Cure. This is a great track with some nice guitar playing. Caves have self released two EPs that have received some critical acclaim and radio airplay . They've been developing a good reputation around town as a band to catch live, so if you're in Portland, be sure to keep an eye out for this up and coming band featuring Jacob Carey – Vocals, guitar, David Benedetti – Lead guitar, backing vocals, Tim West – Keyboards, bass, and Brian Morris – Drums, percussion. Check out CAVES on MySpace
Cute Phase "Lonesome" from their new CD
Victim Loved Silence
Led by Adam Unknown, a former drummer for the Cherry Poppin Daddies, Los Angeles band CUTE PHASE (Adam- guitars, vocals, Layla- keys, Bryce Martin-bass, and Keith Crutchfield- drums) is a different bag entirely. As the visionary and leader of the band, Adam presents dark and moody pop fused with electro lush influences. Their five song debut EP "Victim Loved Silence" was released in the summer of 2006. Check out their intensive tour schedule at CUTEPHASE.com, maybe they'll be in your town soon.
John Moen "Maryanne" from his new CD Perhapst
On his new In Music We Trust release "Perhapst" (recorded by Eric Lovre) JOHN MOEN writes all the songs and plays most everything too (with a little help from his friends including Stephen Malkmus). "Maryanne" features his sweet and melancholy voice that made his former band the Maroons so cool. John has been a Portland indie rock mainstay now for better than 20 years. His work as a drummer (Dharma Bums, Cavemanish Boys, Sophe Lux, Stephen Malkmus, Decemberists, etc) is well known and beloved all over the world. Congrats to John on this great new solo release.
Tony Smiley "My Love" from his new CD
Driving Myself Sane
Tony Smiley brings us "My Love" from his new CD, "Driving Myself Sane" (Buy Now). Tony is our featured guest in Part 2 of the show. He's a talented songwriter, multi instrumentalist and performer, mixing rock, funk and new wave into something entirely his own. He maintains an active tour schedule and his show is always expanding. Be sure to scroll down and check out his live show.
