Rolla "Strangest Thing" from the new CD
Fits and Starts
Lead guitarist Fuzz, formerly of Deep Banana Blackout and The Tom Tom Club, founded Rolla with his 'soulmate' Carrie a few years back. Initially starting out as a folk group, the sound has developed into full blown rock, and we like it. They are based in Burlington, VT. Rolla's new CD "Fits and Starts" is available now from their website at www.rollaband.com
Service Group "Breaking Mirrors" from their new CD Principals Of Electronic Circuitry
This somewhat enigmatic power pop band from Los Angeles is signed with Squid vs. Whale Records, a Portland based label also home to releases by Nada Surf and the Poster Children. Service Group are on tour promoting their new CD "Principles of Electronic Cicuitry", due out on Sept 4, 2007. Rockin'.
Fast Computers "Math Predictions" from their new CD
Heart Geometry
Now based in Portland, Fast Computers formed in Eugene, Oregon as a duet and have metamorphosed into a trio featuring Peter Dean (electric piano, synthesizers, vocals), Jennifer Fox (drums, glockenspiel, vocals), and Brenna Sheridan (ex-Man of the Year) (sythesizers, guitar, vocals). Their music is a mix of indie pop and electronic music influenced by "socialism, math, nylon, plastic, fine liqueurs and modular living". Their new CD, "Heart Geometry" was recorded by Billy Barnett at Gung Ho Studio in Eugene, mixed by Tony Lash and mastered by Jeff Saltzman. Look for them on tour all over the west coast this summer.
Jared Mees "Loboito" from his new CD If You Want To Swim With The Sharks
Jared Mees has been getting good reviews of his limited edition CD on Tender Loving Empire. He writes unique songs and delivers them in a convincing voice that is much like Colin Molloy (Decemberists) or Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel).
"Like Elvis Costello if he had grown up an American Stoner... If you wanna swim with the sharks... is *%#@ fantastic. Okkervil River and Kind of Like Spitting come to mind, but Swim With the Sharks is a hell of a lot more fun, what with all its bouncy rhythm and doubled vocals, its quick quips and tender touches."
-Willamette Week (Portland, OR.)
Starving Daughters "If" from the new CD
Such Bud
Starving Daughters, a "Psychedelic indie rock band from Glendora, CA." was brought to life in 2006 by singer/guitarist Chris Tilloston and guitarist Jack Hutchings. Starving Daughters are label mates to Jared Mees. Their sound is decidedly more dark and somewhat reminiscent of the late nineties band Caustic Resin. Starving Daughters is: Chris Tilloston: Vocals/Guitar, Jack Hutchings: Guitar, Ben Engebretson: Keys/Guitar, Chris Holder: Bass, and Mason Gypsy: Drums. Check out their new EP Such Buds at Tender Loving Empire Records.
Cake On Cake "Come On Rainbow" from the CD
I Guess I was Dreaming
From Sweden, Cake On Cake is the brainchild of 26 year old HELENA SUNDIN.
Cake on Cake is essentially a solo project that is facilitated by Helenas friends and associates. The music is unique and friendly. Get her new CD at Desolation Records

Cake on Cake signed to American label Desolation Records in 2005"
Portland's Drew Grow and his cohorts bring a live set of passionate and compelling music to this episode. Drew's experience as a member of the bands "Five o Clock People" and fronting "Careen" (both bands toured extensively and made records with famed producer Joe Chicarelli) shows in this bold and stripped down presentation of his songs.
Drew Grow had a devout Christian upbringing that has fueled his song-writing in a many ways. He frequently sings about his personal path in life. Scroll down to see a live video of the song "Spider" a song about emancipation from religion, a theme that abounds in Drews work. (photo by Robbie Augspurger Photography)
